Let's Make Some Jammies: Colors & Prints

Our Journey To Create Premium Kids' Sleepwear:

Colors & Prints

Welcome back!

There's a lot of exciting stuff going on over here!

It's crazy to think that I started this project a year ago. When I think about how much progress has been made toward creating premium kids' pajamas, I'm ecstatic -- we're on track to have our first WB children's sleepwear collection in the store this summer!

Ah. Summer. 😎

Anyway, back in December, we finalized the material (a Modal/Lycra blend) and revealed our very first sample. It came out great -- it's stretchy, comfortable, and wears & washes well. With the WB stamp of approval, we moved into production.

Colors

We chose 5 solid, soft tones and we're in love! 💖 💖 💖 BONUS: the colors all look great together so I'll be mixing and matching my little boys' pajamas, for sure!

When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip (Lab Dips)

Once fabric is chosen, it's dyed to an exact Pantone color. A "lab dip" is just a sample of what the fabric will look like once its dyed. We just received our 5 solid lab dips from the factory and they look great!

Prints

We'll also have one print in a pink version and a blue version. For now, we're calling it "A Ladder To The Stars" and the inspiration is a Bob Dylan song I sing (albeit, not well), to my son at bedtime:

"May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung; may you stay forever young."

Our graphic designer, Maria, is a genius and we love what she came up with:

We just received a sample of what the print will look like on fabric. It's exactly how we imagined, so it's been approved and will soon be made into little boys' PJs and little girls' PJs! 🙌

Someone's excited!

Just a few more things on the agenda before manufacturing!
